Living with us - Torsion Students - Student Accommodation Coventry, Birmingham, Lincoln

Everything you need to know about day to day life as a Torsion resident.

To take out a tenancy with us you need to be eligible for council tax exemption. This applies to all full-time students and some part-time students. If you’re unsure, your university or college should be able to let you know.

Unfortunately, we don’t allow pets of any kind in our properties, except for registered assistance animals.

You can bring almost all your belongings. Please ensure any electrical items are British Standard compliant otherwise your items cannot be used safely with UK power outlets. Look for these safety marks.

We’d recommend having a chat with your housemates or flatmates if you’re sharing so you can coordinate what you’re bringing, or even better, plan a shopping trip when you get to your new home.

All of your furniture is built-in, so you don’t need to worry about any of that, just bring what you need to make it feel homely.

Bedding isn’t provided, so make sure you have a sheet for the mattress, a duvet, pillows and covers. Our bed sizes are small doubles, 6ft 3 ins x 4ft.

And remember, all of our buildings are close to excellent shopping facilities, so you’ll be well placed if you need to grab something. You can also get your parcels delivered if you prefer.

If you are applying to live with friends, please ensure that you follow our ‘Book Now’ link online and list the friends that you would like to live with. We will then allocate the room and add you and your friends together. If you book on your own, don’t worry, we’ll make sure you are allocated a room with other like-minded students so you can make a new group of friends.

If you follow the ‘Book Now’ process you can select the room type of your choice or you can make special requests within this route. We always do our best to accommodate any request, however all requests are subject to availability and conditions.

Your room is yours for the full contracted period and you don’t need to move out during any academic breaks. If you rebook for multiple years, we will always try our best to make sure you can leave your belongings at the property if you do want to leave over the summer.

We take your safety very seriously. All our properties provide 24 hours a day support, 7 days a week, to ensure that help is always on hand, whenever you need it. We have a fob-access system so nobody can get into the property without being a resident or being let in by a resident or staff. Our properties are also covered by CCTV for your added security.

If you wish to arrive earlier than your contract start date, you need to email or call the property team. If early arrival is possible your contract will be adjusted, and you will need to pay the additional charges prior to arrival. Please note, not all requests can be accommodated.

It may be possible if there is a vacant room, somebody was to drop out or someone else was willing to swap with you. Please contact the property team and they will do their best to accommodate your needs.

We’ve got you covered! Contents insurance is automatically included in your rent.
